Woodland Hills Country Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in Woodland Hills, California.
Woodland Hills Country Club Golf Course opened for play in 1928. The course was designed by William P. Bell.
Woodland Hills Country Club sits nestled in the beautiful, rolling oak covered foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, on the south side of the San Fernando Valley. With an unparalleled view of the West Valley and a pristine golf course.
Woodland Hills Country Club is known for its tight fairways and small greens.
The front nine features two challenging par 5's along with two demanding par 3's. The ninth hole is the first hole where the golfer experiences the necessity of avoiding water with the second shot. A water hazard protects the right side of a green that is severely sloped from back to front.
The back side, is much different experience. The holes on the back nine are significantly longer than on the front nine, however they still retain the signature tree-lined fairways and small greens. After two relatively straight forward par 4's, the player stands on the 12th tee and is challenged by what some players believe is the best par 3 in the city. Then, beginning on hole #13, the player is faced with two very strong par 4's before coming to short par 3 that has been know to take a few prisoners. Holes 16, 17, and 18 are truly some of the finest finishing holes in Southern California; two long par 4's and a long dogleg par 5. They provide the final touch to a wonderful golf experience and making your last shots of the day memorable.
Par for the course is 70. From the back tees the course plays to 6,203 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,937 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 18, a par-5 that plays to 533 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 15, a par-3 that plays to 148 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 14, a 404 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Woodland Hills Country Club is # 2, a 159 yard par-3.

I just joined this club, and I have to agree with the other reviewers, this course is a hidden gem! People, food, and the staff at the club are outstanding. Special events such as the Girard, and the Memorial Day dinner are fantastic and not to be missed. The management seems genuinely interested in maintaining the course in tip top shape. The only drawback is the lack of a full driving range, which is a minor issue. 5 stars for sure.

I took up golf at the age of 53 ten years ago, and joined WHCC four years ago. My wife and I visited and played all of the private country clubs in the San Fernando Valley for over a year, but found the ambience of this true "private, equity membership" club to be the best by far. Within six months, it felt like we knew everyone, from the many members who have been at the club for over 20 years to newer ones like us. The food and drinks are the best of any private club I have ever played. Since we joined, we rarely eat out anywhere else, and because of the geniality and camaraderie, spend at least an hour or two in the bar with other members after each round. The course is tight, but has made me a better golfer. (Playing at any other course reduces my score by five strokes or more.) There are no "formal" tee times given out, yet even on Saturday and Sunday morning, we ususally get out within 30 to 40 minutes after showing up, just enought time to have a great breakfast, visit the short practice range, or improve your "money game" on the practice greens. The driving range is a shortcoming. It is short, such that only irons can be used. Additionally, unlike many competing clubs, there are no tennis or swimming facilities. However, if you are looking for a club with a challenging course, which is easy to get on, with great food and a warm, receptive membership, this is the club for you.

I've been a member just short of a year. I was looking to join a club in the area and frankly the low price was a big attraction. One of my favorite things to do is to sit in the bar area overlooking the first tee and have lunch. Very friendly staff who gets to know members quickly. The quality of the food is outstanding. Best burger and steak fries in town. The course is much more challenging that it would appear. Narrow fairways and easy to get into trouble. I started off as a 12 index and now I'm a 17. I have yet to break 90! But overall I just love the experience and recommend membership. Rick

Played this course over 30 years, from a 5 to a 15 handicap, and still find it challenging...always have.
